Jaysen is a classically trained actor, teaching artist, and college acting professor whose career has been shaped by the fight for racial and social justice, a belief in the power of the arts to effect social change, and, as an educator who has worked with all ages and demographics, a commitment to helping people access the world in which they live through theatre.
In 2026, Jaysen is nominated for the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Play for his role as Keith in Mosaic Theater Company’s production of Samuel D. Hunter’s A Case for the Existence of God.
